Society frowns on losers.
People fear failure is because they are afraid of what others would think of them. This can happen
in a working environment or school setting. Sometimes children become worried of not meeting their parents’
expectations; or not getting good grades, or winning sports competitions, etc.
Many children feel the strain of this fear to the point that some of them totally refuse to try
something new. This happens when the child feels that there is a chance that partaking in a new endeavor will
result in failure. So instead of experiencing new things and learning from these experiences, they choose
not to participate at all!
Fear of the unknown
Anxiety results when people do not know what will happen next, so they are unable to control the situation and become
uncertain of themselves. Wondering whether they would gain acceptance in a new environment also becomes a
source of apprehension.
